Working in the office leads to obesity
Obesity is a disease of modern times, which is expanding rapidly. In recent times, the apparent link between obesity and working conditions, because for many people, work has become a second home. Also, traditionally eating habits, lack of time are replaced by rapid, fat and caloric intake.
In 2025 The world will be two billion people who are overweight and more than 700 million will be obese, according to experts who have conducted research on physical activity and working habits of the European Union.
Factors that increase the risk of obesity in the population are stress, overwork and eight-hour sitting in front of a computer.
The study showed that 19 percent of the Dutch and 31 percent of Irish people at work did not performed any physical activity, while French do not even engage in physical activity.
Researchers say that obesity is responsible for the lack of places at work where employees would be able to keep and eat their food, and lack of facilities for exercise. Employers should encourage more activity for employees, and create optimal conditions for the “fitness” break in the office.
