Freshman whose roommate is too heavy on average gain less weight during the first year of the college in relation to colleagues with skinnier roommates, according to U.S. research.
Researchers came to this conclusion after they examined 144 freshman who weighed at the beginning of the academic year and asked about ways of maintaining their weight, do that they have problems with excess weight, how to take care of your body, are they exercising it in the fitness center, did you recently been on a diet, etc.
Students whose roommates were overweight had the highest 0.23 pounds after the first year of a college simultaneously to students whose roommates are thinner (between 1.14 pounds and three pounds ).
Experts say that the possible reason for lower weight gain with thicker roommates is that fatter people are more prone to diet and introducing a special regime of diet than people of average weight. Likewise, they exercise more and use supplements diet because they are trying to lose excess weight.
