Orange is the key for weight loss!
Red orange juice (Citrus sinensis) helped the mice in the fight against the accumulation of pounds when they were fed with high fat food, the study found.
On the other hand, those mice that were fed with the “standard” sweet orange were still fat. It was found that the red orange juice prevents the ability to accumulate fat obese cells .
Researchers at the University of Milan believe that the ability to burn fat is because of their high level of pigment anthocyanin , which gives a specific orange red bloody color.
This flavonoid is the main ingredient in many red fruits that keep the heart healthy, keep the vision, help to improve memory, prevent urinary tract infections and contribute to the fight against cancer.
It is believed that the red are hybrid of mandarin orange and grapefruit juice, no seeds and bitter taste. A meal of red orange contains 28% of recommended dietary fiber, and has more sugar than sweet orange.
The study is published in the journal International Journal of Obesity.
