Interval Training Weight Loss Want to cut your portions? Eat in the dark

How many times have you wanted to control your appetite and stop eating when required? You know how much you eat, the feeling of satiety will come when it’s too late

Swiss psychologist Benjamin Scheibehenne offered a simple but effective answer to ” If you want to eat less, eat in the dark! This empirically confirms the old wisdom “hungry eyes, eat!”.

This theory does not work on the principle of “do not see – do not eat”, but it is a matter more complex. Studies have shown that our sense of satiety is associated with what we see to eat and how much we eat. These data is perhaps more important than what our stomach feels.

mealScheibehenne decided to test this theory by gatherings of 64 subjects in a completely darkened restaurant. And eat the dish with vegetable sticks: one group received a normal ratio, while the other received a super huge.

Swiss psychologist has found that the human body does not know how much of the food you entered if you do not see. In the end of a meal, each participant was asked how much he ate and if he felt satisfied. Then the same procedure was repeated in normal light.

It was concluded that respondents who were served a normal portion of food ate an average of eight sticks in the dark, but 12 sticks in a lighted restaurant. People who ate in the dark are difficult to evaluate how much they ate, but could not decide if they feel a sieve or empty.

Scheibehenne came up with this idea when he dined in a particularly dark atmosphere of the restaurant and “dramatically intensified the experience of eating.” When he got out, he could not decide if he ate  the dessert or not. Then he dropped an idea to try this theory on other subjects.
